"Algorithmic problems in group theory and related areas"

The international workshop «Algorithmic problems in group theory and related areas» is organized by Sobolev Institute of Mathematics SB RAS (IM SB RAS) and Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU). It will take place from July, 27 till August 7, 2010, in the Altai Republic near the town of Chemal at the NSTU summer camp «Erlagol».
The following lecture courses accompanied with seminars will be given:
1. "Effective algorithms for matrix groups" by Eamonn O'Brien, Professor of Mathematics, Auckland, New Zealand.
2. "Limits of hyperbolic groups" by Alexandr Yu. Ol'shansky, Professor of Mathematics,
Vanderbilt University, Nashville, USA, and MSU, Moscow, Russia.
3. "Arithmetic properties of finite groups and their connection with the structure of the group" by Andrey V. Vasil'ev, IM SB RAS, Novosibirsk, Russia.
4. "Crystallographic and Quasicrystallographic groups" by Valery A. Churkin, IM SB RAS, Novosibirsk,Russia.
Everybody is welcome to participate. Please note that due to the limited number of accommodation places in the summer camp, the priority for participation will be given to graduate and postgraduate students, young researches, and young teachers.
